'Taiwan's Changing Course' is a CNN video report on President Ma Ying-jeou's efforts to open the island to the world and to the People's Republic of China.

CNN's Anjali Rao follows President Ma on his visit to Kaohsiung, where he participated in the parade which inaugurated the one-year countdown to The World Games 2009.

Together with IWGA President Froehlich, IOC Member C. K. Wu and Host City Mayor Chen Chu, Ma led the parade through downtwon Kaohsiung on 13 July.

More than 3,000 people paraded alongside their newly elected president to signal the start of the one-year countdown to the largest international sports event ever held on the island.
