The ISU World Cup Short Track Speed Skating series begins on Friday in Changchun (CHN). The ISU World Cup Short Track series consists of six events across Asia, North America and Europe, held from October to February in which the world’s best short track skaters from over 20 countries will compete for World Cup titles and prize money.
The first competition in Changchun, China, on October 20-22 marks the inauguration of a new Short Track format brought in by the 51st ISU Congress earlier this year. At each event races are held over 500m, 1000m and 1500m and contrary to previous seasons single distances determine the winners, rather than cumulative results. Quarter finals, semi-finals and finals now run over a few hours during two days of competition
Live results and other information will be available throughout the competition.
