The International Skating Union (ISU) and the organizing ISU Member Federation, the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA) have noted the escalation in the Iraq crisis.

The ISU and the USFSA would like to reiterate that the Washington D.C. and US national authorities and the Organizing Committee are doing their utmost to ensure that all appropriate security measures are taken to protect the athletes, skating family and the public.

The final preparations for this major ISU Event are under way and there is currently no reason for a cancellation, transfer or postponement of the World Figure Skating Championships. No withdrawal of any team has been reported.
