The north East Region comprises Northumberland and Durham who have joined together for the forseeable future to provide one stronger region in the area.

Hexham Priory School Celebrate in Style
The week after the England World Cup victory, Spoon was scoring its own points in Northumberland, presenting a new minibus to Hexham Priory School. Rob Andrew, Honorary President of the Region handed over the minibus to some of the children from the School. Danny Hodgson, Chairman of the Region and members of the Committee spent the afternoon with the children, excitedly talking rugby with their local hero, Jonny Wilkinson’s mentor.
 The majority of the cost of the minibus, £17,000, was raised from the successful first Northumberland bike ride in June 2003. Following on from this event, the Committee are well on route to staging the 2004 bike ride This year the ride will follow the three rivers - Tweed, Coquet and Tyne.
