More than 100,000 App downloads, a multilingual digital experience in five languages and a new generation of event webpages are bringing fans closer to skating than ever before. As the International Skating Union (ISU) continues to advance its digital transformation, its App and website are evolving into a more connected, accessible and engaging Home of Skating - with fans and skaters at the heart of the experience.
A result checked while on the move. A standout performance on the ice relived away from the rink. A favorite skater’s story discovered wherever a fan may be. The ISU Home of Skating Official App brings these moments within easy reach, putting the excitement of skating just a tap away.
Since its launch in October 2025, the App has surpassed 100,000 downloads, reflecting its growing popularity among fans worldwide. Now, the experience is becoming even more accessible, with the App and Home of Skating website available in 5 languages - French, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. In addition, the ISU has introduced a completely revamped event-page experience, designed to become the standard for all future ISU events.
Together, these developments mark an important step in the ISU’s digital transformation, creating a more seamless journey from discovering the sport to following competitions and connecting with the athletes who bring it to life.
The multilingual Home of Skating website makes it easier for audiences to explore the sport in their preferred language. This offering complements the ISU’s enhanced social media presence in China, Japan and Korea, where tailored content and localized initiatives across leading local platforms help connect with fans in the digital spaces they use every day.
Across its wider digital ecosystem, the ISU now operates 21 social media channels, creating even more opportunities to showcase athletes, share compelling skating content and bring the stories behind the sport to fans around the world.
“Skating is a global sport, but the way fans discover, follow, and engage with it can be very localized,” said ISU Chief Marketing & Commercial Officer Jiao Li. “Our ambition is to meet fans where they are, in their own language and on the platforms they use every day. This is an important part of our Vision 2030 and digital transformation, helping us create deeper connections with fans and bring them closer to the athletes and stories they care about.”
Another new highlight is the launch of fully revamped event webpages, transforming how fans discover and follow ISU competitions. Bringing the excitement of each event together in one place, the new pages offer a richer, more dynamic experience, combining audiovisual content and live stories with skater biographies, ticketing information, venue details, competition schedules and live results.
The new event-page experience has become the standard for all ISU events, creating a more consistent, engaging and connected digital experience across the skating calendar.
Bringing together dedicated hubs for fans and skaters, the App offers a connected platform to experience, share, and engage with the sport in new ways.
Fans can personalise their feeds around their favourite disciplines and skaters, follow live results and real-time event updates, and explore athlete biographies, statistics and news. From the latest competition developments to the stories behind the performances, the App makes it easier to stay connected to the sport throughout the season.
The App is also designed to benefit the athletes themselves. Through the dedicated Skaters’ Content Zone, registered skaters can access ISU competition photos tagged with their names, download images free of charge to share across their social media channels, and update their official ISU biographies.
To date, 538 skaters have registered, with 196 downloading more than 2,000 images.
The ISU’s digital ecosystem will continue to evolve, with new features and enhancements planned to create even more ways for fans to discover the sport, follow the action and connect with the athletes and stories that make skating unique.
