Just days before the inaugural international season of Synchro9 gets underway, the International Skating Union (ISU) is excited to unveil the bold new brand identity of its innovative Synchronized Skating format. With a fresh look, dynamic energy and a distinctive attitude, Synchro9 is ready to make its mark on the international stage, building excitement towards its first official ISU Synchro9 World Championships in Nottingham, Great Britain, on March 27–28, 2027.
Modern, urban and youthful, the new identity captures the ambition behind Synchro9: bringing together the athleticism, precision and teamwork of Synchronized Skating with music, creativity and live entertainment. Designed to make skating more accessible and engaging, Synchro9 delivers a dynamic, high-energy competition experience that pushes boundaries, captures attention and creates new ways to connect with the sport, both in the arena and on screen.
This launch also follows a historic decision by the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to include Synchro9 on the event program of the Alpes 2030 Olympic Winter Games, marking a landmark moment for Synchronized Skating and giving athletes an unprecedented opportunity to showcase their talent on the Olympic stage for the very first time.
ISU President Jae Youl Kim said: “Synchro9 marks a historic new chapter for Synchronized Skating and an exciting milestone in our ISU Vision to grow the sport and make it accessible to more athletes, countries and audiences around the world. By combining the unique spirit of teamwork with an innovative competition format and a bold, distinctive identity, we are creating new opportunities for athletes, Members and partners, while offering fans new ways to engage with the sport and inspiring the next generation to discover its excitement. With its Olympic debut at Alpes 2030 on the horizon, Synchro9 has the potential to bring a whole new dimension to our sport.”

At the heart of the new brand identity is a striking, stylized iconic number nine, brought to life through repeated, forward-moving outlines that capture the electrifying energy of Synchro9. Built around a powerful sense of motion, the branding embodies the speed, precision and collective power of nine skaters moving as one, perfectly in sync.
A vibrant palette of teal, pink and purple, set against contrasting black, gives Synchro9 a distinctive, contemporary look that is impossible to miss.
Designed to stand out on the ice, the new identity gives Synchro9 its own recognizable personality, which will carry through broadcast, digital platforms and competition venues.

The same daring attitude will come to life in the on-ice experience, where expressive outfits, creative choreography and upbeat music will create an entertainment experience like no other.
Street dance will set the music theme for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 seasons, bringing contemporary influences to the competition. With nine skaters per team, new possibilities in choreography and formations, short, action-packed programs and high-stakes knockout rounds, Synchro9 is designed to deliver more action and more excitement.
Complementing the established Synchronized Skating format featuring 12 to 16 skaters, Synchro9 adds a new dimension to the discipline, opening up creative possibilities and diversifying the skating experience without replacing its traditional format.

The new Synchro9 identity will take centre stage when the inaugural international season gets underway in Irvine, USA, on 7–8 November 2026.
Further competitions will follow in Vantaa, Finland (November 28-29, 2026), Rouen, France (January 29-30, 2027) and Budapest, Hungary (February 20-21, 2027).
Each stop will give teams their first opportunity to compete in Synchro9, while introducing the new format to wider audiences, sharing its story and building excitement along the road to Nottingham. The journey will culminate in Nottingham that is set to host the first official ISU Synchro9 World Championships on March 27–28, 2027, alongside its first live broadcast.
With its own distinctive identity, a fresh entertainment experience and an Olympic debut at Alpes 2030 on the horizon, Synchro9 is ready to make its mark on the international stage.
