ISU

The Challenger Series is an International Figure Skating Series, introduced during the 2014/15 season. Through ISU support, the objective is to ensure the proper and consistent organization and conduct of up to ten (10) International Competitions linked together within the Challenger Series.

This Communication summarizes the main general obligations of ISU Members, according to the ISU Statutes (see Article 39, paragraph 1 of the ISU Constitution for the definition of the ISU Statutes) and according to established procedures. This does not alter the obligation of ISU Members to adhere to those Rules contained in the ISU Statutes (in particular but not limited to Article 6, paragraph 3 and Article 7, of the ISU Constitution) which are not specifically referred to in this Communication.

The International Skating Union adds a new careers section to ISU.ORG

Precautions have been implemented at all ISU Events as of January 31, 2020 and are aimed at all athletes and their entourage for the prevention of contracting the Coronavirus:

ISU Recognized Ice Dance Referees and Judges’ Seminars 2020

Transformed from the materials of the Oberstdorf seminars conducted in 2019, the new eLearning course - Ice Dance Foundations - makes the expertise and best practices of renowned Coaches available in the multiple areas.

Based on the analysis of the current entries’ situation, the ISU Council has decided to increase the Minimum Total Elements Score for the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2020 for Ladies as described in ISU Communication 2302.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announces that its 2020 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods (List), which was first published on 30 September 2019, has entered into force on January 1st, 2020. 

The Pilot Phase of the ISU Centers of Excellence has officially kicked-off via an online meeting with the representatives of all  involved entities and concerned ISU Members.

As we come to the end of another great year, the ISU President, Mr. Jan Dijkema, would like to address a message to all skating friends.

The second edition of Pure as Ice 2019/20 took place at the first leg of ISU World Cup Speed Skating in Minsk in partnership with the NADO Belarus and with the support of the Skating Union of Belarus. More than 150 Skaters stopped by at the Pure as Ice booth to try their hand at the WADA Play True Quiz and win the amazing goodies in store.

The third edition of Pure as Ice 2019/20 took place at the first ISU Junior World Cup Speed Skating event of the season in Enschede, Netherlands at the Ijsbaan Arena and the official Skaters hotel with the support of the KNSB.

The first edition of the ISU Pure as Ice 2019/20 campaign kicked off at the ISU World Cup Short Track 1 in the home of the Utah Olympic Oval, Salt Lake City (USA). ISU’s Pure as Ice teamed with the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) with the support of the U.S. Speedskating Organizing Committee to deliver the message of Clean Sport to almost 200 Short Track Skaters that arrived to compete in this major Event.
