Although the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2020 were not able to take place as scheduled due to the COVD-19 outbreak, the ISU will offer fans the opportunity to relive the excitement and beautiful performances of the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2018.

Yuzuru Hanyu (JPN) is one of the most successful skaters of our time: He is a two-time Olympic Champion (2014 and 2018), a two-time ISU World Figure Skating Champion and overall a six-time ISU World Figure Skating medalist. He struck gold four times at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final and at numerous ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating events plus he is the 2010 ISU World Junior Figure Skating Champion. There was only one title missing: The title as the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Champion.

As a result of the recent United States’ travel ban of 26 European countries and the state of New York’s restrictions on gatherings over concerns of the spread of the COVID-19 virus, U.S. Figure Skating and the International Skating Union (ISU) are unable to organize the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships® 2020. The event was scheduled to take place April 3-4, 2020, in Lake Placid, New York, United States.

With the uncertainty surrounding the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Skate Canada and the International Skating Union (ISU), were informed today by the Government of Quebec that they have decided to cancel the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2020. The event was scheduled to take place from March 16-22, 2020 in Montreal at Centre Bell.

Avonley Nguyen/Vadym Kolesnik (USA) came from behind to snatch the Ice Dance title in what was a close and exciting competition at the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships in Tallinn (EST) on Saturday. Georgia’s Maria Kazakova/Georgy Reviya made history to win the first ISU Championship medal in Ice Dance for their country. Rhythm Dance leaders Elizaveta Shanaeva/Devid Naryzhnyy of Russia had to settle for the bronze.

Russia’s Andrei Mozalev skated to a confident victory at the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships in Tallin, Estonia, on Friday, ending a series of silver medals. Yuma Kagiyama of Japan had to settle for silver and Russian Petr Gumennik soared from ninth to earn bronze.
