#ISUSkatingAwards     #FigureSkating

Don’t miss the live show to find out which nominees will win an ISU Skating Award. The inaugural event will be held digitally on July 11, 2020 on the ISU Skating Awards page from 16:00 CEST.

Based on the results and experiences from the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series, ISU European Figure Skating Championships and ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships of the 2019/20 season, a long list of Candidates was selected by the ISU Skating Awards Selection Commission.  The long list of Candidates was then subject to online voting by the public, ISU Members and media, each contributing to 1/3 of the vote and based on the votes, three nominees per category were announced.  Six former Figure Skating Champions compose the Jury and will have the final say and vote for the winner.

Tanith and Charlie White will host the event and have the opportunity to speak to all nominees live during the show, and finally, have the honor of revealing the results.

“We’re so honored to be a part of this brand new show, celebrating the accomplishments of our skating family” said Tanith an Olympic silver medalist, and respected sports commentator. “Like all of you, we’ve missed skating these past few months and can’t wait to look back at some of the moments and people who made last season so special.”

“Figure skating at its best offers an opportunity to inspire and unite” said Olympic Champion Charlie White “We’re grateful for the chance to show our appreciation for the sport and also remember all that we have to look forward to. “

In honor of this celebration, guest star Aloe Blacc will be performing his new single “My Way”, which is part of his new album “All Love Everything”, that will be released on October 2, 2020. Creating this new album, it was important for Blacc to focus on making music that would inspire a positive shift in mindset. “When things happening in the world seem so terrible and dark, it’s so easy to get stuck in all the negative,” he says. “But I try to do whatever I can to help people out of that. I want my music to be the light.” Blacc will be bringing some of that light to celebrate Figure Skating and put athletes back at the center stage during the ISU Skating Awards.

ISU Awards How to watch smaller

The Figure Skating season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to the cancellation of the ISU Skating Awards show, that was meant to take place on the final day of the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2020 in Montréal (CAN). However, in this tumultuous environment of uncertainty, it is more important now than ever to get together and honor the athletes, coaches and choreographers who have worked so hard.

Join all these amazing people for a moment of joy, entertainment and support at the ISU Skating Awards tomorrow at 16:00 CEST.
