On September 29, 2022, Solène Mazingue (EST) suffered a fall during training at the Ice Academy of Montreal in Canada. She was rushed to the hospital and after a scan, doctors determined she needed surgery to stop internal bleeding in her head.

Solène’s is a story of resilience and inspiration. She didn’t let this accident dictate the outcome of her life. Her partner Marko Gaidajenko (EST) has been with her along the way, showing her unconditional love and support.

Surprisingly, Solène and Marko got back on the ice not after. Slowly, small steps. Feeling the ice under her blade made her cry but also fueled her dream to come back stronger.

Solène and Marko had a spot to participate in the 2023 ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama (JPN) and they jumped at the opportunity. The goal: step on the ice and perform their Rhythm Dance for the Ice Dance competition. The goal: show passion for Figure Skating and inspire the world. The goal: make the most of life, we only have ONE LIFE.
