The current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic affecting many parts of the world means that travel restrictions are currently in place and the travel situation is likely to remain complex for the coming months in which the Beijing 2022 Test Events were scheduled. The Beijing 2022 Organising Committee (Beijing 2022), the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the International Winter Sports Federations (IFs), concluded that it was necessary to take an immediate joint decision on a tailored programme based on the needs of each individual IF.  Beijing 2022, the IOC, IPC and the IFs jointly decided to develop an adapted sports testing programme in preparation for the Olympic Winter Games 2022. The adapted programme will replace the organization of a series of international Test Events originally planned for the month of December 2020 and the first quarter of 2021.

It is with regret and sorrow that the ISU learned of the death of former ISU Judge, International Referee and Personal Assistant to the ISU President, Mrs. Simonetta Spalluto, who passed away on October 15, 2020 at the age of 65.

Cancellation of ISU Four Continents Championships 2021 and Provisional allotments of ISU Championships 2022 and 2023

A Synchronized Skating Online Element Evaluation is being offered and arranged by the ISU Synchronized Skating Technical Committee to provide an opportunity for International and Championship Synchronized Skating Teams to have several SyS Elements evaluated by ISU and International Officials prior to the upcoming competition season. The ISU has decided to hold an Online Workshop for Coaches & Team Leaders in Short Track Speed Skating, which will be organized by the ISU Short Track Speed Skating Technical Committee.
