Isabeau Levito (USA) flew high in the Junior Women’s Short Program to take the lead ahead of Korea’s Jia Shin and Ahsun Yun at the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships in Tallinn (EST) Saturday.

Olympic and ISU World competitors Karina Safina/Luka Berulava of Georgia scored a runaway victory with almost 19 points to spare and made history by claiming the first ISU Figure Skating Championship title for their country. Australia’s Anastasia Golubeva/Hector Giotopoulos Moore earned the silver medal while Canadians Brooke McIntosh/Benjamin Mimar moved up from fourth place to take the bronze. All three couples competed in their first ISU World Junior Championships.

The 29-year-old from Obihoro (JPN) became the first Japanese female athlete to win multiple titles at the Olympic Winter Games, when she claimed victory in both the Team Pursuit medal and Mass Start at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang (KOR). Nana’s younger sister and Beijing 2022 Olympic 1000m champion Miho Takagi announced to take a break from the sport " without setting a timeline" for a possible return to the ice.
