With less than a year to go, the third edition of the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) will take place from January 9-22, 2020 in Lausanne (SUI), dubbed as the Olympic capital in the world. The Qualification Systems for all three ISU disciplines (Figure Skating, Speed Skating and Short Track Speed Skating) have been approved by the IOC Executive Board.

A total of 204 athletes will be admitted as participants in the ISU disciplines as follows:

- 76 athletes for Figure Skating
- 64 athletes for Speed Skating
- 64 athletes for Short Track Speed Skating

The age limits for the disciplines are as follows, with a specific exception for the male Skaters in Pair Skating and Ice Dance:

- Speed Skating & Short Track Speed Skating, born between January 1, 2002 and December 31, 2004
- Figure Skating, for the Singles category , born between January 1, 2003 and December 31, 2005
- Figure Skating For Male Skaters in Pair Skating and Ice Dance, born between January 1, 2001 and December 31, 2004

ISU Members/NOCs are requested to take these age restrictions into account when confirming or rejecting YOG Quota Places and when entering the athletes.

On the basis of the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2019, the ISU World Junior Speed Skating Championships 2019 and the ISU World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships 2019, an initial set of YOG Quota Places has been assigned to the respective NOCs/Members.

Whilst for Short Track Speed Skating the qualifying process has been concluded, for Figure Skating and Speed Skating the assignment of remaining YOG Quota Places to be allocated to NOCs/Members will be based on the results from individual events held on the occasion of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating and the ISU Junior World Cup Speed Skating Competitions during the Autumn of 2019.

In accordance with the YOG Qualifying System the ISU herewith announces the provisional YOG Quota Places for entries to the YOG 2020 for each ISU YOG discipline.
