Lausanne, Switzerland

The ISU fully respects all those, especially in the skating community, who have spoken out against racism, brutality, oppression, or any other form of prejudice. Such behaviors and attitudes have no place in our society.

In this regards ISU policies and decisions will continue to be guided by the ISU Code of Ethics, in particular Article 4, which prohibits all persons who involve themselves with the ISU in any capacity whatsoever to “discriminate in any kind against anyone on the basis of reasons such as race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status, or athletic ability.’

The ISU is committed to ensuring that its sports and policies are inclusive and safe for everyone. And in light of recent developments, the ISU will investigate what initiatives can be taken to enhance diversity and accessibility within its sports.

The ISU will continue its objective to promote Figure and Speed Skating sports and to foster their development on the basis of friendship and mutual understanding among athletes.
