Legendary Dutch Speed Skater Sven Kramer received the most prestigious of awards at the annual ANOC Gala Awards on October 19, 2022.

The dutchman won a record nine ISU World Allround Speed Skating Championships, 10 European Allround Championships, 21 World Single Distance titles and nine Olympic medals (4G, 2S, 3B), and it only seemed befitting for him to win the ANOC Award for Outstanding Sporting Career. “I am really proud to receive this award, feeling blessed to be here. When I was still Speed Skating I never had time for events like this as I was always focused on events and performance,” said Kramer “but now it’s time to look back and be really proud of what I did in the past for Speed Skating.”

Hwan Dae Heon receives ANOC Award for Best Male Performance of Beijing 2022 in Seoul (KOR). © ANOC

South Korean Short Track Speed Skater Hwang Dae Heon who claimed the first gold medal at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and is the current World Record holder in the 1000m, won the ANOC Award for the best male performance of the Games, an accolade he shared with Ailing (Eileen) Gu (CHN) who won Best Female Performance of Beijing 2022.
