Appollinariia Panfilova/Dmitry Rylov of Russia edged out World Junior Champions Ekaterina Alexandrovskaya/Harley Windsor of Australia for a narrow lead in the Junior Pairs Short Program.

The International Skating Union (ISU) is truly appalled and deeply saddened by the findings of the Schmid Report and fully respects the IOC's decision.

Back in August we embarked in a new adventure for the 2017 ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating.  

It is never an easy task to get to the ISU Grand rix of Figure Skating Final. Skaters have only two chances, two events, four programs to rank among the best six skaters in their category.

36 skaters/couples from eight ISU members will compete in the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. Six skaters/couples in each category qualified from the six events of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series: Rostelecom Cup in Moscow (RUS), Skate Canada International in Regina, Audi Cup of China in Beijing, NHK Trophy in Osaka, Internationaux de France de Patinage in Grenoble and Bridgestone Skate America in Lake Placid.

36 skaters/couples from six ISU members have qualified for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final.

The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final will be taking place in Nagoya, Japan on December 7-10 and all Figure Skating fans will be getting backstage access through our special guest who will be reporting from the event.

After her 5000m gold in Stavanger two weeks ago, veteran Claudia Pechstein (GER) claimed another World Cup victory when she crossed the line first in the mass start in Calgary on Sunday.

Alex Boisvert-Lacroix (CAN) took gold on home ice in a tumultuous 500m in Calgary on Sunday. Min-Kyu Cha (KOR) grabbed silver and Mika Poutala (FIN) bronze.

Miho Takagi (JPN) posted her third consecutive 1500m World Cup victory, her winning time of 1 minute 51.79 seconds breaking the Japanese national record by more than two seconds. Marrit Leenstra (NLD) took silver in a Dutch national record and Yekaterina Shikhova clinched bronze in a Russian national record.

Denis Yuskov (RUS) won his second 1500m gold of this World Cup season in Calgary on Sunday. The Russian clocked the second fastest 1500m time in speed skating history, finishing in 1 minute 41.33 seconds. Dutchmen Koen Verweij and Kjeld Nuis took the silver and bronze.

After crashing in the Ladies 1000m on Saturday, Nao Kodaira (JPN) hit back with a personal-best 36.53 seconds to grab gold in the 500m at the Calgary Olympic Oval on Sunday.

The Dutch made amends for their 10th place in the Team Pursuit on home soil in Heerenveen three weeks ago, winning the event at the Calgary Olympic Oval on Saturday. Japan took silver and Norway clinched the bronze.

The Japanese ladies are on fire this season and they showed it again in the Team Pursuit at the ISU World Cup Speed Skating in Calgary on Saturday. They broke their own world record to add another gold to their impressive tally.

Kai Verbij (NED) took gold in the men’s 1000m in Calgary on Saturday after fastest finisher Pavel Kulizhnikov (RUS) was disqualified for crossing the marker irregularly in the inner corner.
