#KeepLearning

The ISU Ice Dance Technical Committee is pleased to announce the availability of Learning Exercises for Technical Controllers and Technical Specialists on the ISU eLearning platform. The purpose of the exercises is to provide continuing education and practice for technical panel members. The specific objectives are as follows:

  • maintain technical knowledge and skills

  • review existing and new rules

  • provide clarifications

  • promote dialogue with technical panel members thereby establishing consistency in identifying elements and their demonstrated features

Please note: the exercises in the modules will not affect your current status, nor will they count for reappointment or a seminar.

The format of the Learning Exercises is as follows:

Module 1 is a self-paced individual exercise that consists of two parts: a questionnaire with multiple choice questions that focus on rules and regulations, and an element identification exercise with four videos to analyze. The questionnaire is scored electronically and can be undertaken as many times as the official wishes with a different selection of questions each time. The video analysis contains blank worksheets as well as the list of correct features for each element so that the officials can compare their own answers to the correct answers.

Module 2 consists of a series of ten videos of Free Dances as well as blank analysis sheets. Discussions of the videos will take place with members of the Ice Dance Technical Committee.   Five in-person discussion meetings are scheduled from 19:30 - 20:30 Central European Time on the following dates:

February 17                    Videos 1 and 2
