This Communication clarifies the differences between World Standings and World Rankings and establishes their application in the Draws for Starting Order of the Short Program at the ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships and the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships. Rule 970.

- The “ISU World Standings”, which takes into account results of the preceding two seasons and the current season, will become the basis for the draws at ISU Championships and could be used as criteria for the selection of teams for competitions and the base for starting orders for other competitions as designated by the Council.

- The “ISU Season’s World Ranking”, which is based on the results of the current ongoing season only, reflects the current competitive performances of Teams giving the public and media an indication of current actual competitiveness.
