World bronze medalists Vanessa James/Morgan Cipres of France skated to the lead as Skate Canada International opened with the Pairs Short Program on Friday. China’s Cheng Peng/Yang Jin sit in second place, followed by Canadians Kirsten Moore-Towers/Michael Marinaro.

2018 Olympic silver medalists Evgenia Medvedeva (RUS) and Shoma Uno (JPN) start their Grand Prix season at Skate Canada International as the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating 2018/2019 continues in Laval, QC.

Satoko Miyahara of Japan repeated as Skate America Champion, taking back-to-back titles in the event. Teammate Kaori Sakamoto made it a one-two finish for the Japanese Ladies, grabbing the silver medal, while Russian Grand Prix debutant Sofia Samodurova skated to the bronze.

The Ice Dance event produced several firsts: Madison Hubbell/Zachary Donohue (USA) danced to the first Grand Prix gold medal of their career while silver medalists Charlene Guignard/Marco Fabbri of Italy and bronze medalists Tiffani Zagorski/Jonathan Guerreiro of Russia made the podium at a Grand Prix event for the first time.

World silver medalists Madison Hubbell/Zachary Donohue (USA) danced to the lead in the Rhythm Dance as Day 2 of Skate America concluded in Everett on Saturday. Italians Charlene Guignard/Marco Fabbri finished second, followed by Tiffani Zagorski/Jonathan Guerreiro of Russia.

World bronze medalist Satoko Miyahara of Japan leads the Ladies following the Short Program on Saturday at Skate America in Everett. The 2018 Four Continents champion Kaori Sakamoto, also of Japan, follows in second, and Russian newcomer Sofia Samodurova sits third.

World champion Nathan Chen (USA) cruised to the men’s gold, taking the title with 40 points to spare. The Czech Republic’s Michal Brezina claimed the silver, his first Grand Prix medal in four years, and Sergei Voronov of Russia moved up one spot to earn the bronze.

World silver medalists Evgenia Tarasova/Vladimir Morozov of Russia started their Grand Prix season with a gold medal as Skate America continued in Everett, Washington (USA) on Saturday. Teammates Alisa Efimova/Alexander Korovin gave Russia the silver medal also, while Ashley Cain/Timothy Leduc (USA) claimed the bronze. For Efimova/Korovin and Cain/Leduc, these were their first Grand Prix medals.

World champion Nathan Chen (USA) ruled in the Men’s Short Program, taking the lead with a little over eight points to spare ahead of Czech Republic’s Michal Brezina. Julian Zhi Jie Yee of Malaysia upset several well-known competitors to place third in his Grand Prix debut.

2018 World Champion Nathan Chen (USA) and several world medalists headline the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating - Skate America in Everett, WA (USA) this week, kicking off the 2018/19 Series, as the first of six events.

The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in Yerevan, Armenia, was the last chance for skaters to book their tickets to the Final in Vancouver, that will take place from December 6 – 9, 2018.

Olympic Champions Yuzuru Hanyu (JPN) and Alina Zagitova (RUS), 2018 World Champion Nathan Chen (USA) and three-time Ice Dance World Champions Gabriella Papadakis/Guillaume Cizeron (FRA) as well Olympic, World, European and Four Continents medalists will compete in the six events of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series when the hot phase of the 2018/19 season starting next week. The series in this post-Olympic season features also the next generation of up and coming skaters.

More junior skaters secured their spot in the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final as the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating series continued in Ljubljana (SLO)with the sixth and penultimate event.
