The ISU has been recently informed by the Korea Skating Union (KSU) that due to internal KSU issues, the following ISU Events cannot be held as planned in Seoul, Republic of Korea:
- ISU World Cup Short Track Speed Skating, December 14-16, 2018
- ISU World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships 2019, January 25-27, 2019
The ISU is currently finalizing the relocation of the ISU World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships to be held on January 25-27, 2019 and we expect to provide more details shortly.
The ISU is also investigating potential solutions to find ISU Members to host the ISU World Cup Short Track to be held on December 14-16, 2018, preferably in Asia. However, also considering the recent decision of the Chinese Skating Association not to organize a Short Track World Cup event during the ongoing season as well as considering the limited time left for the preparations, it is most likely that the Event will have to be cancelled.
Nevertheless, the ISU would consider expressions of interest from ISU Members which are available to act as host for the above-mentioned ISU World Cup Short Track. Interested ISU Members are kindly requested to contact the ISU Secretariat, Mr. Fabrice Prahin, not later than September 17, 2018.
