ISU and Aiving partner up to bring innovative technology to skating
30 Jan 2026
The International Skating Union (ISU) has entered into a partnership with Aiving, to provide on-ice performance tracking and training support for Figure Skaters, Coaches and Judges.
Delivering on its pledges to bring innovative technology to skating, ISU is supporting the roll-out of the lightweight wearable devices that strap to the skates of the athlete, delivering key real-time data through a ‘Jump Tracker’ program that helps to foster success and minimize the risk of injury. The ISU recognizes that the Jump Tracker can play a key role in athlete development and, through its Members and ISU Centres of Excellence, will accompany Aiving’s product launch.

ISU Director General Colin Smith said: “A key pillar of our Vision 2030 strategy is to embrace technology to elevate all aspects of our sport, and this partnership is aimed to better serve skaters through usable motion data in a cost-effective way. As well as helping the athlete and their coaches, we are looking further to how the tool will support the work of officials.”

Aiving Founder and CEO Halla Sigurthorsdottir said: “Our goal is to make training in skating sports as measurable and accessible as in running and cycling. Jump Tracker has shown the value of combining expert coaching with objective data. Partnering with the ISU is a major step toward this vision. Together, as part of the ISU’s Vision 2030, we will deliver actionable performance and load management metrics to skaters and coaches worldwide and explore applications across other ISU disciplines.”
Aiving’s drive for innovation is rooted in a deep passion for skating, years of close collaboration with skaters and coaches, and the understanding of how use data science and artificial intelligence to transform complex performance data into clear, usable insights.
