ISU 60th Congress Day 3 Begins - 09:00 (WEST)

Last day of the ISU 60th Congress is underway. Today’s proceedings will be marked by elections for key leadership positions across the ISU’s governing bodies and committees, helping to shape the future direction of the organization and the sport for years to come: 

- ISU President

- ISU Vice Presidents

- ISU Council Members 

- Technical Committees

- Audit, Risk & Investment Committee

- Skating Integrity Unit Board 

Jae Youl Kim Reelected as ISU President by Acclamation - 09:25 (WEST)

Current ISU President Jae Youl Kim was re-elected by acclamation for a further term at the helm of the International Skating Union.

Addressing Congress following his re-election, President Kim expressed his gratitude to the Members, stating: “I thank you for your support and your trust. I assure you that I am as committed today as I was in 2022 to lead this organization and help build a bright future for our sport.”

Figure Skating Vice President Elections - 09:30 (WEST)

The election process for the next ISU Figure Skating Vice President is now underway.

Four candidates are standing for election:

  • Fabio Bianchetti (Italy)
  • György Elek (Hungary)
  • Benoit Lavoie (Canada)
  • Ubavka Novakovic-Kutinou (Greece & Bosnia and Herzegovina)

Delegates will hear presentations from each candidate before casting their votes.

György Elek (HUN) elected Figure Skating Vice President - 09:45 (WEST)

György Elek (Hungary) has been elected ISU Vice President for Figure Skating for the 2026–2030 term, securing 80 votes in the final round ahead of Benoit Lavoie (Canada), who received 40 votes.

Speaking after his election, Elek thanked the ISU Members for their trust and support, pledging to dedicate his experience,  passion and energy to serving the Figure Skating community and advancing the sport over the next four years.

Speed Skating Vice President Elections - 09:50 (WEST)

The election process for the next ISU Speed Skating Vice President is now underway.

Four candidates are standing for election:

  • Alexander KIBALKO (Russia)
  • Stoytcho STOYTCHEV (Bulgaria)

Delegates will hear presentations from each candidate before casting their votes.

Alexander Kibalko elected Speed Skating Vice President - 10:10 (WEST)

Alexander Kibalko (Russia) has been elected ISU Vice President for Speed Skating for the 2026–2030 term, securing 85 votes and prevailing over Stoytcho Stoytchev (Bulgaria), who received 30 votes.

ISU Council Members for Figure Skating Branch Elections - 10:45 (WEST)

The election process for the next ISU Council Members for Figure Skating Branch is now underway.

The following candidates are standing for election:

  • Fabio BIANCHETTI – representing Italy 
  • Robin COUSINS – Great Britain 
  • György ELEK – Hungary

Election of the Chair of the Technical Committee for Ice Dance - 11:58 (WEST)

The election process for the next  Chair of the Technical Committee for Ice Dance is now underway.

The following candidates are standing for election:

  • Michela Cesaro Italy
  • Shawn Rettsatt - USA

Chair of the Technical Committee for Ice Dance elected - 12:00 (WEST)

Congress has elected Michela Cesaro as Chair of the ISU Ice Dance Technical Committee for the 2026–2030 term.

Cesaro received 78 votes, defeating Shawn Rettstatt, who received 37 votes.

Election of the Chair of the Technical Committee for Synchronized Skating - 12:05 (WEST)

The election process for the next Chair of the Technical Committee for Synchronized Skating is now underway.

The following candidates are standing for election:

  • Jennifer BETTS - Canada 
  • Nina BISCHOFF – Switzerland
  • Karin SHERR – United States 

Chair of the Technical Committee for Synchronized Skating elected - 12:07 (WEST)

Congress has elected Nina Bischoff as Chair of the ISU Synchronized Skating Technical Committee for the 2026–2030 term.

Bischoff received 59 votes, defeating Sherr, who received 58 votes.

Election of the Chair of the Technical Committee for Speed Skating - 12:08 (WEST)

Nick Thometz (USA), the sole candidate for the position, was elected Chair of the ISU Technical Committee for Speed Skating by acclamation of the Congress.

Election of the Chair of the Technical Committee for Short Track - 12:10 (WEST)

Following the withdrawal of Christoph Milz, the sole remaining candidate, Wim De Deyne (Belgium) was elected Chair of the ISU Technical Committee for Short Track by acclamation of the Congress.

Election of the Members of the Technical Committee Single and Pair Figure Skating - 12:11 (WEST)

The election process for the next members of the Technical Committee for Single and Pair Figure Skating is now underway.

Audit, Risk and Investment Committee elected by acclamation - 12:40 (WEST)

Congress elected the members of the ISU Audit, Risk and Investment Committee by acclamation for the 2026–2030 term.

The elected members are:

  • Margaret Blunden
  • Michael Foley
  • Warren Joseph Naphtal

Election of the Chair of the Disciplinary Commission - 12:43 (WEST)

As sole candidates, Susan Petricevic was re-elected as Chair of the Disciplinary Commission by acclamation. 

Members of the Disciplinary Commission elected - 12:45 (WEST)

Congress elected the members of the ISU Disciplinary Commission by acclamation for the 2026–2030 term.

The elected members are:

  • Keith King (Speed Skating)
  • Shannon Sibold (Speed Skating)
  • Eugen Larasser (Figure Skating)

Jimmy Strun Mayer was elected by acclamation on the condition that he successfully passes the eligibility test.

Election of the chairperson and two members of the Skating Integrity Unit Board  - 12:48 (WEST)

Congress elected the first members of the newly established Skating Integrity Unit Board by acclamation.

Following a nomination and review process led by the ISU Council, Joyce Cook (Great Britain) was elected Chair of the Board, alongside Herman de Haan (Netherlands) and Jill Pilgrim (United States) as Board members.

The Skating Integrity Unit forms part of the ISU's ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, safeguarding and integrity across all skating disciplines.
