On Safe Sport Day, the International Skating Union (ISU) is taking another important step towards creating a safer, fairer and more ethical future for skating through the implementation of its operationally independent Skating Integrity Unit (SIU). Bringing this vision to life, the ISU is unveiling the SIU's new visual identity, dedicated webpage and secure online reporting platform, providing the global skating community with a trusted and accessible hub for information, education and reporting.

Every action counts in creating a safer sporting environment for everyone. As part of its long-term commitment to safeguarding and integrity, the ISU is proud to formally establish the operational framework of the Skating Integrity Unit, together with its dedicated digital ecosystem making relevant information, educational resources and reporting mechanisms more accessible, transparent and user-friendly than ever before.

Through the new Skating Integrity Unit online section, athletes, coaches, officials, ISU Members and the wider skating community now have a single dedicated hub where they can learn, engage and play an active role in support of clean, fair and safe sport.

This commitment is reflected in the ISU's continued support for Safe Sport Day, a global initiative celebrating the people who make sport safer every day while encouraging everyone to help protect children and all participants from abuse, harassment and harm. This year's campaign theme - "Stand up. Speak out. Play your part." - perfectly echoes the principles that underpin the ISU's integrity strategy and the mission of the Skating Integrity Unit.

One Destination for Skating Integrity

Established as an independent body under the new ISU Constitution adopted in 2025 (read here), the purpose of the Skating Integrity Unit (SIU) is to prevent, detect, and address all forms of corruption and ethical misconduct that are a threat to integrity in order to create and ensure an ethical skating environment that is safe, fair, equal, and honest for all participants.

Guided by four strategic priorities, the SIU works to:

• Promote regulatory excellence by ensuring its framework reflects evolving best practices.
• Prevent integrity issues through education, by contributing to creating a culture of ethical behaviour in skating through information and education.
• Strengthen investigations and enforcement, by building and enhancing the SIU’s capacity to effectively investigate ethical breaches, safeguarding violations, and misconduct.
• Enhance transparency, reporting and accountability through accessible information, confidential and supportive reporting mechanisms and independent investigations.

Supporting this mission, the newly launched SIU webpage brings every aspect of skating integrity together in one dedicated digital destination. It provides athletes, coaches, officials, ISU Members and fans with easy access to practical guidance, educational resources and reporting tools.

The web section is organised around four key areas:

• Skate Clean - promoting clean sport through anti-doping education, prevention and compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code;
• Skate Aware - strengthening safeguarding and athlete welfare through guidance, support resources and direct access to the confidential reporting platform.
• Skate Fair - championing ethical conduct, fair competition, good governance, conflict of interest management and the prevention of competition manipulation. 
• Education - bringing together e-learning, best-practice resources and integrity programmes designed to empower everyone in the skating community to help build a culture of integrity.

Making it easier to speak up

A key feature of this launch is the new Skating Integrity Reporting Platform, providing a secure and confidential channel for reporting concerns relating to safeguarding, ethical misconduct, competition manipulation, conflicts of interest and other potential breaches of ISU Regulations.

Reports may also be submitted anonymously where appropriate, helping to ensure that everyone has a trusted way to speak up.

The launch also introduces the Skating Integrity Unit's own visual identity, creating a distinctive and recognizable brand that reflects the Unit's operational independence while maintaining a strong connection to the ISU.
