ISU set to open landmark Home of Skating in Milan
05 Feb 2026
The International Skating Union (ISU) is set to inaugurate its first Home of Skating on the sidelines of Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, marking a milestone moment for the global skating community.
Designed as a vibrant and welcoming hub, the Home of Skating will bring together athletes, officials, partners, broadcasters, and key stakeholders, to connect, celebrate, and experience the Olympic Winter Games in a new and inspiring way.
This Home will also serve as a platform to showcase the ISU’s ongoing transformation and the many innovations introduced under its Vision 2030 strategy. With athletes placed at the heart of this evolution, this new strategic direction reflects the ISU’s commitment to modernizing governance, enhancing the event and broadcast experience, and strengthening fan engagement, building on an estimated 330 million people worldwide who already watch, follow, or participate in skating.
ISU President Jae Youl Kim said: “For our athletes, the Olympic Winter Games represent a defining moment - the reward for years of hard work, resilience, and passion. For the ISU, Milano Cortina 2026 is another major milestone in our Vision 2030 journey. With skating at the very heart of the Olympic experience, we are proud to introduce the Home of Skating as a place that reflects our values, celebrates our athletes, and brings our community together. We can’t wait to share this unique Olympic experience, on and off the ice, with the world.”
ISU Director General Colin Smith added: “Alongside our two competition venues in Milan, this third venue will serve as a true home away from home for the ISU and the entire skating community. This Home has been designed as a collaborative and dynamic space - whether it’s for watching competitions and highlights, creating business opportunities, or sharing unforgettable Olympic moments. This approach reflects the innovative spirit that we have been taking over the last two years and the evolution of how we connect as a community and present our sports to the world.”
Although the Home of Skating will not be open to the public, exclusive content generated from the venue will be shared with fans around the world through the ISU’s owned and operated digital media channels.
