The International Skating Union (ISU) is pleased to welcome Glice, the Swiss-based global leader in synthetic ice surfaces, as World Ice Skating Day Partner (WISD) for the event’s fourth edition taking place on December 14^th, 2025. This new collaboration will allow Glice rinks around the world to join the celebration, proudly carrying the official WISD branding and introducing the joy of skating to communities that have little or no access to real ice.

Launched in 2022 and held annually each December, the WISD aims to bring the magic of skating to everyone – regardless of age, background, skill level and ability – and to unite people through joyful moments at ice rinks. 

This commitment to accessibility and inclusiveness takes an important step forward with the addition of Glice as a WISD partner. Thanks to its extensive global network of synthetic rinks, Glice will help bring WISD to places where traditional ice surfaces are unavailable. Their rinks open the door to skating for families, young people, and entire communities who may never have had the chance to glide before -strengthening the grassroots foundation of the sport.

By joining the many ice rinks that have powered WISD celebrations over the past four editions, Glice expands not only the event’s global footprint but also its mission: making skating truly accessible, everywhere.
