The International Skating Union (ISU) is surprised by the news that the European Commission has adopted a “Statement of Objections” in the course of its antitrust investigation of the ISU’s eligibility rules prohibiting Skaters from participating in unauthorized events that are not on the ISU international calendar.
The ISU Council met on September 9-10, 2016 in Geneva, Switzerland. The following decisions were taken by the Council during the meeting.

In order to protect the clean Skaters and in line with the ISU Anti-Doping Rules (ISU Communication 1922, Article 6.5 “Further Analysis of Samples”), the ISU has improved its Anti-Doping Program by implementing a “Samples Long Term Storage and Reanalyze” Policy based on Article 5.2.2.12.1 of the WADA International Standard for Laboratories and applying the respective WADA Guidelines for Long Term Storage.
