The ISU was informed by the Japanese Skating Federation (JSF) of the cancellation of the ISU Four Continents Speed Skating Championships, that was scheduled to take place from January 28 – 30, 2022 in Obihiro (JPN).
The Council reviewed the spontaneous application from Speed Skating Canada to host this Championships and decided to allot the ISU Four Continents Speed Skating Championships 2022 to Calgary/Canada.
The ISU regrets that the hosting of these Championships will not be in Obihiro as originally scheduled but is pleased that the event will take place in Calgary and thanks the Japanese Skating Federation and Speed Skating Canada for their efforts and cooperation.
