Many Synchronized Skating Alumni are known to pursue careers in the sport. Some become Technical Specialists or Judges, others focus on building awareness for the sport through NGO’s. And the third type of alumni are skaters that start coaching the next generation of skaters. Nadine Banholzer’s passion has led her to help young and passionate skaters to fulfil their dreams.

Following a break of two years due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships are finally back. The World’s top teams gather this week in Hamilton (CAN) to find out who their new champions are.
Team Fintastic Junior (FIN) successfully defended their title as the ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships concluded in Innsbruck (AUT) on Saturday. Team Skyliners Junior (USA) claimed the silver medal and the bronze went to the newcomers from Team Elite Junior (USA). It was an exciting battle until the end with only 1.50 points separating the winners from the bronze medalists.
The ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships will be held in Innsbruck (AUT) March 17-19, 2022. A total of 23 teams representing 18 ISU members have been entered for the Championships. This is the seventh edition of the ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships, which was a biennial event, and has become annual beginning of 2017. The event was cancelled in 2021 due to the ongoing pandemic.

The ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Montreal, (CAN) have been postponed to April 8-10, 2022
Following the recent worldwide developments (Covid-19 pandemic and Ukrainian crisis), the ISU and Speed Skating Canada are currently considering a postponement of the ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Montreal, CAN from March 18-20, 2022, to the first part of April 2022.
The ISU Council reiterates its solidarity with all those affected by the conflict in Ukraine and our thoughts are with the entire Ukrainian people and country. The ISU Council reaffirms its full solidarity with the ISU Members in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Speed Skating Federation and the Ukrainian Figure Skating Federation. The ISU Council will evaluate possibilities for swift humanitarian assistance to its Ukrainian ISU Members.
The ISU is witnessing with great disbelief the events unfolding in Ukraine and is deeply concerned about the safety of the skating family in Ukraine. Our hearts go out to all those affected and our thoughts are with the entire Ukrainian people and country. The ISU expresses its solidarity with all those affected by this conflict.
