The four-part short-form documentary series, which follows athletes who competed at the ISU European Short Track Speed Skating Championships and the ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships 2021 is now available

All for one and one for all – that is what counts in a team sport. Synchronized Skating brings together a group of young women that are training and competing. But to make sure that each member feels included and respected it takes some work, as Tessa Tamminen, captain of the most successful Finnish team and five-times ISU World Champions Marigold Ice Unity points out. 

The ISU Council met on October 1-2, 2021 in Geneva, Switzerland. The full decisions are published in ISU Communication 2431, below is a summary of some of the decisions:

The International Skating Union (ISU) has published the International Speed Skating & Short Track Speed Skating Competitions for the season 2021/22.

In Synchronized Skating teams consist in general of 16 Skaters plus the substitutes that form a unit and team spirit is essential for success as Aida Aleskerova, captain of Team Berlin 1 (GER) makes clear. “Synchronized Skating is the friendliest discipline within skating because you are not only responsible for yourself, but also for the other 15 athletes,” she said. “Friendship, trust and respect are basic requirements for a good team.”

Online voting took place between June 15-22, 2021 on the Proposals included in the summary of Proposals from ISU Members, the Council, the Sports Directors and Technical Committees for changes in the Constitution, General Regulations and Special Regulations. The four-part short-form documentary series follows the stories of five athletes who competed in the 2021 Speed Skating Hub, that took place in Heerenveen, The Netherlands, in January and February and Premieres Friday, July 2 via the ISU Newsletter.
