Russian newcomer Sofia Samodurova stormed to gold in her debut as the Ladies event concluded at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships. Olympic Champion Alina Zagitova of Russia slipped to second place to claim the silver, while Finland’s Viveca Lindfors rose from fourth to take the bronze.

Vanessa James/Morgan Cipres struck gold, becoming the first European Pair Skating Champions from France since 1932 as the ISU European Figure Skating Championships continued Thursday with the Pairs Free Skating in Minsk (BLR). Defending champions Evgenia Tarasova/Vladimir Morozov of Russia settled for the silver this time, while Russian newcomers Aleksandra Boikova/Dmitri Kozlovskii captured the bronze medal in their debut at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships. Nicole Della Monica/Matteo Guarise (ITA) made a few little errors to slip to fourth place, edged out of the podium by just 0.14 points (205.14 points).

Spain’s Javier Fernandez celebrated a golden farewell in his last competition, taking his seventh consecutive European title in a dramatic Men’s Final. Russian Alexander Samarin claimed the silver medal and Matteo Rizzo of Italy surged from tenth to take the bronze, the first European medal for an Italian man in ten years. Kevin Aymoz (FRA) remained in fourth place on 246.34 points. 2018 European bronze medalist Mikhail Kolyada (RUS), who led after the Short Program, dropped to fifth (240.87 points) after several errors and injuring his left hand on a fall on a triple Axel.

France’s Gabriella Papadakis/Guillaume Cizeron danced to their fifth consecutive title with 11 points to spare as the Ice Dance event concluded. Alexandra Stepanova/Ivan Bukin of Russia danced to the silver medal while Italians Charlene Guignard/ Marco Fabbri claimed the bronze, their first medal at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships.
