ISU Members have a new opportunity to apply for a Visiting ISU Coach in 2023/24 to assist them in establishing their skating program, coaching systems, as well as teaching skating skills, ensuring technical improvement, refining programs, preparing for competitions, etc. Applications may be made for any ISU discipline and must be sent by March 31, 2023. Please see the attached Communication 2538 for additional information about what is covered by the funding and the structure of the initiative. The application must be submitted on the attached application form to development@isu.ch.

The program will offer ISU Members assistance in the form of a Visiting ISU Coach.

The program is aimed at ISU Members that need assistance in evaluating what is required to start a skating program, establishing coaching systems, teaching basic skating skills, ensuring technical improvement, refining their programs, preparing for competitions, etc. for any ISU discipline.

A Visiting ISU Coach will be a highly educated and experienced Coach offering his/her expertise and time to provide expert mentoring, support and assistance. This will be done during visits to the applicant ISU Member’s country, combined with online support. The ISU Development Program will cover the honorarium for the Visiting ISU Coach and international travel expenses for the visits, while the ISU Member will need to provide local transport, transfers and accommodation.

The Visiting ISU Coach will initially meet online with the individual ISU Member in order to discuss and assess their needs. The Coach may spend between 3 and 10 days in the ISU Member’s country, depending on the outcomes of the initial discussions. The structure of follow-up support, including up to two additional visits and intermediate online contact, will be determined on a case-by-case basis and depending on the allocated budget.

Reports must be provided by both the ISU Member and by the Visiting Coach after the visits have taken place.
