It’s summertime and the ISU Centers of Excellence (CoE) are active organizing a series of training camps for Figure Skaters of all levels. Here is an overview of the programs on offer at the Oberstdorf (GER), Champéry (SUI) and Bergamo (ITA) Centers of Excellence.

Oberstdorf CoE: Figure Skating Jump Technique Workshop (August 14 - 17, 2023)

The ISU Center of Excellence Oberstdorf (GER) hosts a 4-day Jump Technique Workshop for Single Skaters and their Coaches from August 14-17, 2023. This workshop aims at teaching single Skaters in the advanced novice and junior categories, to work on jumping elements on and off the ice.

Summer Training Camp at the Center of Excellence in Oberstdorf (GER). @ ISU

Methodical exercises explained and shown by experienced international coaches will help to take home valuable tips and tricks. Daily training off the ice, including ballet and specific acrobatics and athletics, will be organized, as well as classes on the ice.

Champéry CoE: Figure Skating Summer Camp Novice (July 05 - 15, 2023) & Advanced (July 18 - 30, 2023)

The Skating School of Switzerland Summer Camps offers training camps tailored for elite Skaters at the Novice, Junior, and Senior levels. Stéphane Lambiel and his team are joining forces to offer a personal and enriching experience for skaters with talent and aspiration.

Summer Camp Novice (July 05-15, 2023)

The 10-day Summer Camp Novice from July 5-15, 2023 in Champéry (SUI) is reserved for skaters at the Novice level, meaning from the 4th Swiss star test or equivalent (mastery of all single jumps, at least 6 years old) up to the SIS 4 Advanced test or equivalent (ISU Advanced Novice, working on all doubles, up to 12 years old).

Summer Training Camp in Champéry (SUI), 2023. @ Skating School of Switzerland 

The training program is designed to meet the athletes’ specific needs. During the master classes, they will receive advice from specialists on several selected topics, such as steps and turns, spins, jumps, or choreography. Theory workshops will complete this work and will also cover other important topics for skaters at that age, such as the basics of the judging system or how to prepare for a competition.

Summer Camp Advanced (July 18-30, 2023)

The Advanced Summer Camp will extend over two weeks (to be booked individually or combined) from July 18-30, 2023 in Champéry (SUI) and is dedicated to Advanced skaters. Skating skills and jumping techniques classes will be provided along with a range of off-ice training activities.

Bergamo CoE: Figure Skating Summer Camp (June 26 – September 01, 2023)

The Bergamo CoE Summer Camp is open to single and pairs Figure Skaters of all competitive levels. On-ice classes will be taught by professional certified staff that include Italian as well as foreign internationally renowned coaches, qualified trainers, experienced dancers, choreographers and off ice coaches.

 The ISU Centers of Excellence (CoE)

The ISU CoE acts as a quality label awarded periodically to selected skating entities based on the quality of their facilities as well as the performance and development-oriented initiatives implemented. As of today, there are 11 CoEs forming a worldwide hub that engages Skaters, Coaches, Officials and experts from the skating community for the fulfillment of training and development goals.

The International Skating Union (ISU) supports the funding and facilitation of the Centers of Excellence as part of its Development Program that aims at promoting, expanding and popularizing skating activities across the world and generations.
