Overview of the competitors
Reigning World Junior Synchronized Skating Champions Fintastic (FIN) are back and aiming for the third consecutive title after winning in 2022 and in 2020. The event was cancelled in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Defending silver medalists Skyliners (USA) return to the Championships as well and want to challenge the Finnish team.

National Junior Champion Fintastic is the hot favorite after winning the Neuchatel Trophy and Leon Lurje Trophy earlier this year. The Skyliners have a gold medal from the Mozart Cup under their belts.
Competition should come from the traditionally strong teams from Finland, Canada and USA: Dream Edges (FIN), Les Supremes (CAN), Nexxice (CAN) and Lexettes (USA). The Dream Edges are the National Junior silver medalists and came second at the Lumiere Cup in December. Les Supremes ranked third at the Lumiere Cup while Nexxice took gold at the Hevelius Cup. The Lexettes won the Spring Cup.

Originally called Precision Skating, Synchronized Skating was introduced in the 1950s. It is a highly technical form of Figure Skating characterized by speed, precisions, unison, intricate formations, synchro elements, difficult footwork, spectacular lifts and exciting transitions.
A synchronized team consists of 16 skaters (plus up to four alternates).
The ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships were originally held biennially since 2013 and are held annually since 2017. France hosts the event for the first time. The Championships were allocated to France in 2021 but had to be cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
