It is little wonder Vincent Zhou (USA) was momentarily paralyzed when asked on the latest edition of The Ice Skating Podcast – available to listen to now – to share how he is feeling.

It is with regret and sorrow that the ISU learned of the death of former Figure Skater, Mr. Karol "Karcsi" Emil Divín.

Isabeau Levito (USA) beat Jia Shin of Korea by a slim margin to win the gold medal in what was an exciting Junior Women’s final in Tallinn. Lindsay Thorngren (USA) pulled up from fourth place to earn the bronze. Levito and Shin had their debut at the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships while Thorngren had competed in Tallinn at the 2020 ISU World Junior Championships.

Oona Brown/Gage Brown (USA) danced off with the gold medal as the Ice Dance competition concluded at the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships continued in Tallinn (EST) Sunday. 

Ilia Malinin (USA) crushed the competition and claimed gold, with more than 40 points to spare, at the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships in Tallinn. Mikhail Shaidorov of Kazakhstan rose from eighth place in the Short Program to give his country its first medal at the ISU World Junior Championships. Japan’s Tatsuya Tsuboi moved up from fifth to earn the bronze. 

Isabeau Levito (USA) flew high in the Junior Women’s Short Program to take the lead ahead of Korea’s Jia Shin and Ahsun Yun at the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships in Tallinn (EST) Saturday.

Olympic and ISU World competitors Karina Safina/Luka Berulava of Georgia scored a runaway victory with almost 19 points to spare and made history by claiming the first ISU Figure Skating Championship title for their country. Australia’s Anastasia Golubeva/Hector Giotopoulos Moore earned the silver medal while Canadians Brooke McIntosh/Benjamin Mimar moved up from fourth place to take the bronze. All three couples competed in their first ISU World Junior Championships.

Oona Brown/Gage Brown (USA) danced to a confident lead in the Rhythm Dance with Canadians Natalie d’Alessandro/Bruce Waddell and Nadiia Bashynska/Peter Beaumont following in second and third place. 

Karina Safina/Luka Berulava (GEO) won the Junior Pairs Short Program as the competition at the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships continued in Tallinn (EST) Thursday. 

Ilia Malinin (USA) took the lead as the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships opened in Tallinn (EST) on Thursday with the Junior Men’s Short Program. Wesley Chiu of Canada came second, edging Estonia’s Mikhail Selevko.

When the war in Ukraine broke out, Spanish Ice Dancer Sara Hurtado felt shocked and helpless as so many people. The athlete left Moscow in a hurry, where she had lived and trained with her partner Kirill Khaliavin since they teamed up in 2016. Back in her home town of Madrid, she kept following the news and the urge to do something grew.

During the latest ISU Council meeting held on April 1-2, 2022, the feasibility of maintaining the ISU Skating Awards 2022 was evaluated.

The next generation of promising Skaters will take center stage at the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships in Tallinn (EST) April 13-17, 2022. At total of 145 Skaters/Couples from 40 ISU members are set to compete in Estonia.

Olympic Champions Gabriella Papadakis/Guillaume Cizeron of France danced to their fifth World title on home ice at the 2022 ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Montpellier (FRA) on Saturday. Madison Hubbell/Zachary Donohue (USA) took the silver, their fourth consecutive World medal while teammates Madison Chock/Evan Bates collected the bronze, their third World medal.

Two-time Olympic medalist Shoma Uno (JPN) claimed his first World title at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Montpellier (FRA) that continued on Saturday. 2022 Olympic silver medallist Yuma Kagiyama (JPN) took his second consecutive World silver medal while Vincent Zhou (USA) rose from sixth to earn the bronze.
